| Heanor Gate Printing Limited has announced news of its first major in-vestment since the company
underwent a management buyout in March of 2005. The investment, valued at £1.3 million, involves the
purchase of a new six-colour ROLAND 700 B1-format printing press from MAN Roland GB.
"With the current increased levels of business that we are seeing, we felt that the time was right for the
new machine," said Brian Reeder, managing director of Heanor Gate Printing. "MAN Roland has always provided
us with excellent machinery and excellent service. They came up with an ex-cellent price for the ROLAND 706,
and we just couldn't walk away from such a great deal."
The new press will run alongside two other ROLAND 700's - a four-colour and five-colour machine. All three
presses will be networked through MAN Roland's PrintNet system, and will be linked to pre-press to provide
for fast and efficient transfer of CIP3 data.
The ROLAND 706 will replace an existing six-colour Komori 640 machine. "Converting our B1 equipment to all
MAN Roland makes a lot of sense," said Brian Reeder. "It means that we can network all three machines, and we
will be able to switch jobs between presses as appropriate. The ability to link the machines to our pre-press
department also means that we will be able to save time on press make-readies by downloaded ink profile data directly
into on-board computers."
The company prints a wide range of commercial colour work in both B1 and B2 format. Heanor Gate Printing has been in
existence for over 30 years, and cur-rently employs some 70 personnel. Turnover at the company was in excess
of £6 million last year. |
