Machine overhauls
Having operated satisfactorily for many hours, all machines benefit from a thorough overhaul. Carried out by skilled MAN Roland GB technicians, timely overhauls ensure that your machine continues to provide productive, reliable service.

Preventive maintenance
In order to minimise the incidence of breakdowns and downtime, all manufacturers recommend that their machines are maintained in accordance with their published schedules. The MAN Roland GB Sheet Fed Press Service Department can carry out such maintenance tailored to your requirements as well as any necessary checks and adjustments as and when it suits you.

'Health checks'
If you need confirmation that your present machine is in good condition or are considering the sale or purchase of a pre-owned machine, you will require an expert examination of the equipment. Our technicians can perform a thorough 'health check', providing you with a detailed report on any of our sheet fed presses.

Go Green
As you are aware, the pressure to be aware/proactive regarding the chemicals used is always a hot topic in our industry. We have worked hard to develop a package of items that will give you an opportunity to reduce the use of alcohol. The benefits you would enjoy not only include a saving on the cost of buying alcohol but also include:-

• Target to reduce costs (chemical and insurance risk).
• Improve quality (colour brightness & dot repro).
• Reduce turn around times.
• Reduce waste sheets.
• Be in front of legislation and Health & Safety.
• Sell Green to your customers (ISO standard 14001).

The package can consist of the following items, however, we would need to discuss this with you to analyse your current alcohol usage and the targets you have.

• Low alcohol dampening rollers.
• A Starter pack of chemicals to aids the reduction of alcohol.
• Supply of a sensor to accurately measure low alcohol levels 0% - 5%.
• A water filtering system to take out debris on its return from the water duct.
• The supply of a Reverse Osmosis system to treat "unstable" water systems.

Safety consulting
New regulations, guidance notes and recommendations published by the Health & Safety Executive and the EC may mean that your machine does not meet the latest safety standards. Our Safety Manager can provide appropriate advice and is available on a consultancy basis for more detailed assistance, including advice on pre-owned machines.

In the event of machine failure
Should your sheet fed press break down, simply call one of our Service Desks or get in touch - by fax or answering machine. If your machine has actually stopped, our target is to provide a technician urgently and no later than the next working day.

Wagon Repairs
Those customers who have a four colour press and above, based on the 5 cylinder principle, will know that we offer a wagon repair service. However, due to the reducing numbers of these presses in the UK it is no longer feasible to continue with this service. We do realise that this is an important service for our customers and for that reason we have made alternative arrangements.

When your wagon(s) are in need of refurbishment, where possible you will be sent an exchange item. A MRGB technician will be instructed to fit and test the wagon(s) in your press. There will be a basic charge for this service, the existing wagon(s) will then be removed from your press and sent to MAN Roland, Offenbach for checking and refurbishment. The wagon(s) will then be inspected and the actual price charged to you will depend on the level of work required to repair the wagon(s). The wagon(s) supplied to you on exchange will become "your" wagon(s) and will not need to be replaced. This will save on labour and transport costs and should counter any increases that may occur as a result of the wagon being transported back to MAN Roland, Offenbach.

Technical support
Despite your best efforts some jobs can prove to be difficult to run. The MAN Roland GB Sheet Fed Press Service Department have qualified demonstrators, instructors and technical staff who can help you with diagnosis, training or demonstration. If they cannot provide an instant answer they can call upon other resources within MAN Roland GB and the relevant manufacturer to assist you in securing a solution.
