Printnet JobPilot is available on the ROLAND 300, ROLAND 500, ROLAND 700 and ROLAND 900 sheetfed presses. JobPilot enables off-line make-ready through the creation of digital job bags.

Off-line make-ready with printnet JobPilot is a radical concept. Essentially all the parameters for upcoming print jobs can be entered into printnet JobPilot. This can be done in the production control office. The data can be entered directly (run length, sheet size, pressure setting etc), or can come from previously captured data, on an MIS for instance. In addition data can come directly, through printnet Pre-pressLink, for instance the ink duct settings on the press come directly from the digital image.

JobPilot then stores and queues those job parameters in the main printnet console. When the production control office decides that job is to go on the press printnet retrieves the job, and the press then sets itself for that job. This is only possible because the MAN Roland presses are fully automated.

Off-line makeready with printnet JobPilot can reduce the labour requirement, and can maximize skills, the best operator can set all the presses for instance. It enables maximum efficiency and productivity, downtime is at the bare minimum, waste likewise is minimized, accuracy is high form the first sheets.
