Five-colour ROLAND 200 Hi Pile takes Centre Stage
Following on from its introduction at the recent Drupa event in Germany, manroland GB is offering UK printers the chance to take a trip to Offenbach to take a closer look at one of its B2 offerings, the ROLAND 200 Hi Pile.
Equipped with five-printing units, this machine will be on show at manroland’s Research and Development Centre in Offenbach on September 2nd 2008. The highlights among the new features for the ROLAND 200 introduced at the recent drupa show included the high-pile delivery and the ROLAND InlineCoater smart, both of which further increase the all-round capabilities of this compact press. A delivery pile height of 900 millimeters permits longer runs or jobs with thicker substrates to be produced more economically because fewer pile changes are necessary.
ROLAND InlineCoater smart – a combined coating and printing unit
The ROLAND InlineCoater smart offers more added value with a precisely metered coating film. It is equipped with an anilox roller/chambered doctor blade system and is suitable for occasional and simple applications of dispersion coating (protec-tive and matt or gloss coating) on paper and light board. An additional printing unit can be used to provide special coating results such as drip-off applications with matt and gloss effects. This module is fitted to the last printing unit which can be converted to printing from coating and vice versa very quickly. When the unit is used for printing the chambered doctor blade system can remain in place. Another new feature for the ROLAND 200 which is available with up to six printing units is the ROLAND SelectDryer IR/TL integrated within the delivery.
The ROLAND 200 was shown in action on three different stands at Drupa: on the manroland stand in with five printing units, high-pile delivery, Inline-Coater smart, ColorPilot smart, PressManager smart, and the ProfitPlus de Luxe package. CTP specialist Lüscher showed the ROLAND 200 in Hall 5 with an integrated delivery and linked to prepress with PressManager smart online. In Hall 12 PIAB demonstrated its central air supply system on a ROLAND 200 with two printing units, an integrated delivery, and the ProfitPlus Comfort package.
